Rangamati: A way to touch the clouds

Rangamati is one of the hill districts of Bangladesh and the largest in size. It is one of Bangladesh’s most beautiful tourist destinations with its own cultural, ethnographic culture, and endless creation of nature of 11 communities of 10 languages. There are tons of famous tourist destinations, including Sajek Valley, Kaptai Lake, Rajban Bihar, TukTuk Eco Village, Chitmaram Buddhist Monastery, Karnaphuli Paper Mill, Jhulonto Bridge, and so on.

Sajak Valley

Sajek is like a picture painted by an artist. When you go to Sajek, you must not miss the morning time. In the morning, clouds start dancing in front of your eyes. To have this moment, you need to wake up very early in the morning. And then you have to walk towards the helipad from your resort. From the helipad, you will get the best view of dancing clouds. It seems like you’re flying through the clouds; you’re touching the clouds. The feeling can never be described; it only can be felt by real experience. Besides, you can also enjoy the sunset from the helipad. Don’t forget to keep those moments in the frame of your camera.

When to visit

Sajak’s form is not comparable with any other tourist place in Bangladesh. You can visit Sajak at any time of the year. However, from July to November, clouds play more around Sajek. So this is the best time to visit Sajak.

How to go

Sajek is situated in Rangamati. However, traveling to Sajek is effortless via Khagrachari.
You will get plenty of options to come to Khagrachari from Dhaka. There are different AC and non-AC bus transport services in Dhaka, including S Alam, Shyamoli, Shanti Paribahan, BRTC, etc.
Reaching the Kha to Sajek will cost you around 8000-1000 Taka, and the vehicle can transport 12-14 people at once.


All the resorts have food arrangements, so if you tell the resorts in advance, they will cook as per your choice. If you want you can have a BBQ party as well at night. In addition, you can eat at the tribal house. You have to tell them in advance what to eat. Then they will cook it for you. Moreover, don’t miss the taste of papaya, pineapple, banana, etc., at a very low price.

Kaptai Lake

Kaptai Lake is e one of the most beautiful lakes in Bangladesh and is a combination of clean water and green variety. It is one of the most visited greenery spots in Bangladesh. Every traveler loves to visit Kaptai lake whenever they get a little time in their busy life. It is a combination of boundless beauty, green hills, and clean waters.

How to go

You directly reach Kaptai Lake from Dhaka. It will take around 7-8 hours in total. Alternatively, you can go via Chittagong. There are different buses from the Chittagong Bahaddarhat bus stand to Kaptai Lake. The fare is around 80-120 Taka.
